A Brief History of Chiropractic Science
1895 marks the first giant leap forward in modern chiropractic care. Dr. D. D. Palmer first identified a spinal misalignment in another person, and improved it with a chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Palmer is most renowned for his research pertaining to the significance of having a healthy spine and how a misalignment may lead to aches, pains, or illness.
In the decades that followed, Dr. Palmer’s son and daughter-in-law continued with his work. They opened the first chiropractic school, called the Palmer School of Chiropractic. Their research and teachings propelled chiropractic research and care further, with the Palmer School of Chiropractic becoming the leading institute for chiropractic science.
After the Palmer School, various other educational facilities opened continuing what Dr. Palmer began. These institutions also transformed the safety and efficacy of chiropractic methods and techniques. These approaches evolved using the latest scientific advancements. Today, this field continues to expand with many individuals receiving the benefits that chiropractic care offers.
